For the last eight years Convergence has had the pleasure of helping a select group of students from Jackson Hole High School build a strong foundation of business skills. Our initial involvement in the high school’s entrepreneurship program was the brainchild of our founder, Colby Cox. Colby wanted to provide business students the opportunity to get a jump start on the fundamentals that helped him succeed throughout his career. With the help of high school business teacher Jim Rooks, they created a crash course curriculum where students develop a business idea into a full-fledged business plan.

Each year students with the most impressive plans compete for scholarship proceeds in a Shark Tank style format. We’ve had the pleasure of awarding scholarships and mentoring many students over the years. We continue to be impressed by the energy and level of sophistication the students bring to the program- some students, like Jackson Tisi featured below, have turned their ideas into real thriving businesses. It was a pleasure having the opportunity to work with the students again this year and we look forward to seeing where they take their careers.

Sincerely,

The Convergence Team

Former Jackson Hole High School student and recent NYU Film School Graduate Jackson Tisi describes the impact of his experience participating in the Convergence Business Plan Competition.

The Convergence Business Competition left a profound impact on me. Outside of the scholarship money they provided, I found the experience invaluable. As a commercial director, my job requires non-stop pitching and bidding to win jobs. Convergence laid the foundation for how I do this today. Their competition format really pushed me to think creatively and learn how to value myself and my ideas” – Jackson Tisi

Since participating in the high school competition in 2014, Jackson has graduated from New York University Film School and produced award-winning work for brands like Facebook, Mastercard, Spotify & Uber. Click the below images to view some of Jackson’s recent commercial work:
